Lana Gatto Silk Mohair is a high-quality yarn that blends the softness of mohair with the luster of silk. The raw material for this yarn is sourced from South Africa, the world's largest producer of mohair. The fiber is obtained from the finest fleece of Angora goat kids under 6 months of age.
The resulting kid mohair and silk blend has a light and fluffy texture, which makes the finished fabric voluminous and soft. It is a delicate and very fine yarn, pleasant against the skin, from which you can create almost anything. By changing the number of strands held together and the needle/hook size, you can achieve fantastic results—from weightless, gossamer-fine shawls to cozy cardigans and sweaters. When used as a carry-along thread with another yarn, it creates a warmer and fluffier fabric.
